Cooking Instructions: Conventional Directions: 1. Bring water (or milk) and salt to a boil in a medium saucepan. 2. Stir in oats; reduce heat to medium low. 3. Simmer uncovered 25 to 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until liquid is absorbed and oats are tender. Serving: Water (or Milk (adjust liquid for desired thickness): 1: 1 1/2 cup; 2: 2 cups; 4: 4 cups; 6: 6 cups. Serving: Steel Cut Oats: 1: 1/4 cup; 2: 1/2 cups; 4: 1 cups; 6: 1 1/2 cups. 1: 1/2 cup. SServing: Salt (optional): 1: dash; 2: 1/8 tsp; 4: 1/4 tsp; 6: 1/4 tsp. Microwave Directions: 1. Mix 1/2 cup of steel cut oats with 2 cups of water in an 8 cup microwave-safe bowl (the size of the bowl is important as it must be large enough to allow the oats to bubble up without spilling over). 2. Cover and microwave on high for 5 minutes. 3. Stir and finish cooking for another 5 minutes. Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust cooking time. Caution: Product and container may be hot. Store at ambient temperatures.
