Cooking Instructions: Stove: 1. In a saucepan, bring water, salt and oil to a boil (It is recommended that only 1 cup rice be prepared in the microwave at a time. Microwave ovens vary cooking times are approximate). 2. Stir in brown rice. 3. Cover. Reduce heat and simmer 40 minutes or until water is absorbed. Cooking Instructions: Microwave: 1. In a 2 quart microwave-safe dish combine 2 cups water with1 cup brown rice. (It is recommended that only 1 cup rice be prepared in the microwave at a time. Microwave ovens vary cooking times are approximate). 2. Suggested Cooking Times: Cover and microwave on high for 5 minutes. Reduce setting to Medium high, microwave for 30-40 minutes. Let stand for 5 minutes. Cooking Measurement Chart: Rice: 1 cup; 2 cups; 3 cups. Water: 2 cups; 4 cups; 6 cups. Salt (Optional): 1 tsp.; 2 tsp.; 3 tsp. Oil or Margarine (Optional): 1/2 tbsp.; 1 tbsp.; 2 tbsp. Servings (3/4 cup cooked): 5; 9; 14.
